Extreme Networks equipment.
Introduction
This guide provides the required information to install an Extreme Networks Summit
™
switch,
Alpine
™
switch, or BlackDiamond
®
switch. It also contains information about site location, switch
functionality, and switch operation.
This guide is intended for use by network administrators who are responsible for installing and setting
up network equipment. It assumes a basic working knowledge of:
• Local Area Networks (LANs)
• Ethernet concepts
• Ethernet switching and bridging concepts
• Routing concepts
• Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)
